Acrobatic Dance (6-9 yrs)

Acrobatic Dance is a style of dance formed of gymnastics and dance, Students learn to properly and safely execute acrobatic tricks in seamless combination with more traditional dance steps. This style improves conditioning, strength, Flexibility, Agility and control. Acrobatic Arts Certified Instructor Shy Kotkas of En L’air Academy of Dance has been teaching Acrobatic technique for over 5 years and runs an energetic and fun class while pushing students to succeed in new tricks with proper technique. Students are required to wear a black leotard, beige 3 quarter length dance tights and bare feet.

Jitterbugs: Arts, Crafts, and Books

Wondering what to do with your little one first thing in the morning? Why not join Jitterbugs where your child will partake in a little warm-up to shake the morning cob-webs off, followed by a story and then a craft related to the story you just read. Your child will surely enjoy Anna our teacher and this will be a great way to stimulate your child's mind.

Introduction to Hip Hop

Get your kids started on the dance train early and learn some Hip Hop! Our instructor Shy will teach your children the first steps to busting out some moves while the foundation for great coordination.

Come out with coach Eric to learn how to strap on the laces and hit the ice. He'll take through your first steps of learning how to skate and guide you to success.

Intro to Power Skating

Take your game to the next step as Coach Eric will teach how you to establish better speed and stride, improve both forward and backwards skating, along with creating higher mobility and agility.

Ice Hockey

Strong Women

Strong Women Bootcamp is an hour long workout class, It brings in various elements of HIIT, Weight Training, body weighted movements and mobility intended to meet your fitness goals, gain confidence in yourself and have a ton of fun. This class is great for beginners all the way to experienced, and is a great place to meet other women in your community. Hope to see you there to help you start off 2018 as healthy as possible..

Drama for Adults

This is for all skill levels! Great to use your dramatic energy. You will learn several different acting techniques, study character development, do scene studies and work towards a short performance at the end of the program.

Latin Dance

Dance, have fun, make friends and get that cardio work out in while you explore Latin styles including Salsa, Bachata, Cha-cha, Merengue and more! This class will build musicality, rhythm, cardio, and bodily awareness. Don't have a partner? no worries! We start as singles learning basic steps and movements and move on to partner work in later classes, sign up with a partner or make friends in class. Please wear comfortable exercise wear and either runners or ballroom heels (women) depending on your comfort level. (It is best to start in runners until you know the steps and feel comfortable switching to heels at your own pace and preference).

Ballerina Bliss

This class is an introduction to the world of Ballet through engaging games and instruction. Students should wear appropriate dance attire, such as leggings or shorts, and a fitted t-shirt or tank top. A bodysuit and tights are recommended but not required. Students should wear bare feet, gymnastics slippers or ballet slippers to class.

Badminton (6-12 years)

Students will work on developing and perfecting the basic movements used in the sport of badminton, while learning the basics of serves, smashes and drop shots, as well as court position. Furthermore; students will be taught the skills necessary to hit the forehand, specifically the correct body movements, swing patterns and balance. This class is suitable for all levels.

Basketball Hoopla

Children with a love for Basketball will enjoy developing their skills and knowledge of the game through interactive activities, games and drills. This program is designed to accommodate all skill levels, with drills being adapted for each child's needs.

Beginner Tennis (6-12 years)

Combined movement training such as running, jumping, catching ad hand eye coordination are skills that will be a focus of this program. Children will also take part in hand-eye coordination games, foot work exercises, and fun skill building activities. Children are required to bring their own racquet and wear comfortable clothing, along with running shoes. A minimal number of racquets are available if your child does not have their own.

Cardio, Strength & Core

A class that works on cardio movements to challenge the heart and lungs. Tone and strengthen muscles using weights, resistance bands or body bars and tighten your core through a series of abdominals and core exercises. Cool down and help your body recover with a set of guided stretches.

Circus Aerials

Circus Aerials are a combination of dance, technique, strength and fitness combined to create a beautiful acrobatic dance in the air supported by safety regulated tricot fabric. Classes include Aerial silks skills and techniques, students will learn proper knots, flips, hangs, and strength poses. Instructor Shy Kotkas of En L’air Academy of Dance is fully insured and trained. She has been performing and teaching Circus Aerials for 6 years and only teaches skills that students are physically prepared to succeed in. Our classes are safe and occupy proper progressions for maximum safety.

Students must wear 3 quarter tights, bare feet and body suits to class for adult classes leggings over a bodysuit or leotard are suitable. Loose clothing may be caught in fabic or hinder a students ability to navigate the silks.

Dance Explosion

An explosion of dance styles! We will look at jazz, tap, ballet, creative movement, hip hop and more. This class is a great introduction to the world of dance!

Discover Yoga

This class is perfect for those looking for a focus on body alignment in combination with breathing to promote flexibility, strength and balance. This gentle yet effective class is designed specifically for brand new students to yoga and for those who like to focus on the fundamentals of Iyengar Yoga.

Drama is Fun (5-8 years)

An introduction to the exciting world of theatre through drama games, imagination, story telling and fun becoming our favorite characters!

Gentle Yoga

This class provides a gentle introduction to the basic principles and practices of yoga. Through the use of basic postures and breathing techniques and the addition of props as needed this class is perfect for maintain good health and fitness.

Hip Hop

Children in this class will learn the coolest moves, while building confidence. Due to its freestyle and improvisational nature, Hip Hop dance is great for teaching children, at a young age, that it’s okay to be different.

Indoor Ball Hockey

Come join head instructor Eric (who also teaches our learn to skate programs) as we play the Canadian classic, hockey! Learn some new skills in a fun, relaxed and non competitive atmosphere then put those skills to use in an exciting scrimmage! This class is a great way to hang out with your friends and make new ones. Get active and enjoy a great sport! No experience required but please bring your own stick! Goalie equipment is provided so all kids wanting to try goalie will get the opportunity.

An Introduction to Drama (9-14 years)

Delve into the wonderful world of theatre with this beginner class. We will play improvisational games, study voice production, get into character and work on some fun drama skits.

Intermediate Tennis

Students will continue to develop static and dynamic progressions for forehand and backhand strokes while maintaining court positions. Body movements, swing pattern, and balance will also be a focus of this program. Recommended for participants with some previous tennis background.

Intermediate Youth (10+) & Beginner Adult Tennis

Students will become familiarized with the basic movements used in the sport of tennis, while learning static and dynamic progressions for forehand and backhand strokes, as well as court position. Kickboxing Level 1 & 2

This class incorporates all the best elements of Kickboxing into an amazing full body workout! This class will help strengthen and tone your body, build your cardio and leave you feeling great at the end of each class. Learn different punches (jab, cross, hook, uppercut) and kicks (roundhouse, snap, push). Learn to perform kicks and punches in different combinations. This class is suitable for all levels. Please note that hand wraps will need to be purchased from the Instructor for $10 at the first class.

Kids Code Force: Build Your Own Website

Does your child already have an idea of some of the basics of creating games and projects? Are they looking for something a little more challenging? In this program children will have a chance to learn some html or CSS to build their own website.

Kids Code Force: Programming with Scratch

Learn the basics of computer programming while creating your own games and other projects. We will use a child-friendly drag and drop interface and projects will be shared online. Computers will be provided.

Level 1/2 Yoga

Iyengar Style Yoga teaches students to become aware of their body and mind; using sequencing of postures (asanas) and breath to balance the body. Props such as blocks, bolsters and straps make the practice accessible to all body types, focusing on the breath and safe alignment of the body.

Music Kids

Music Kids is Chinook School of Music’s early childhood music program for kids, six months to five years of age. We use a modern approach to music education that integrates scientific research supporting the positive role that music plays on brain development. An eclectic combination of instruments are used in each class including the piano, guitar, violin, drums, bells, rhythm shakers, and xylophones to teach young children listening skills, motor coordination and following musical direction. Our students experience a joyful and nurturing learning environment while developing fundamental music skills.

Musical Theatre

In this introduction to musical theatre students will learn all the music, words and a choreographed dance to a number(s) from a huge Broadway shows or musical movies. Costumes and simple sets are involved which the students are a part of creating. There is a small performance at the end of the session where the students can share what they have learned with friends and family.

Restorative Yoga

Restorative yoga is intended to take the mindfulness that is found in all disciplines of yoga to the next level. Take time to slow down, connect the mind and body. The use of props- a blanket, chairs, a bolster, an eye bag, a strap and blocks, help to make the practice comfortable to everyone. This class will help to center your breath and body - aligning the physical and mental by practicing stillness or gentle movement for extended periods of time. The props assist in helping you to hold poses longer.

So You Think You Can Dance

This class has something for everyone! We will try out many of the styles of dance that you see on the popular television show and learn some awesome choreography. A great introduction or extension into the world of dance! No experience necessary.

Sportball Junior (16-24 months)

This 45-Minute program is a perfect introduction to Sportball. Children and parents participate in sports, creative games, songs, rhymes, stories, bubble time and much more! Although these programs focus more on exploration, children will be introduced to a different sport each week. Parents and caregivers are encouraged to participate with their child and challenge them according to their skill level.

Sportball Multisport (3-5 years)

Sportball Multi-Sport skills development programs introduce preschool and primary school children to the concepts and skills involved in the eight core sports of the Sportball methodology. Classes are conducted once a week in one-hour sessions, using developmentally appropriate methods to introduce, practice and refine gross motor skills. The programs reinforce the benefits of teamwork and skills development rather than the importance of winning, enabling children to gain the confidence and develop the social skills necessary to succeed in sport and life.

Sportball Parent & Me (2-3 years)

Parents and caregivers can have a direct hand in a preschooler’s development through our range of MultiSport programs. Parent & Me programs teach children important introductory physical skills and help them develop confidence in their abilities. The programs also help adults understand proven teaching techniques that can be applied outside of Sportball classes. Classes focus on refining, rehearsing and repeating skills and playing games in a fun, creative, non-competitive environment.

Strong Girls

Strong Girls Fitness is designed for girls to help develop a positive body image and confidence through a great workout with new friends. All movements are functional to everyday life and only use body weighted exercises. While enjoying and learning about the importance of staying active this class will also show the importance of building a strong self esteem.

Taekwondo (5-6 years)

This program is designed to help kids learn how to set up and achieve their goals. It focuses on physical coordination and learning processes through a loving and fun atmosphere. Combining great values such as respect, discipline, and honesty help to empower each child and guide them to discovering and exceeding their potential. Our unique traditional martial arts program is based on development and maintenance of the child’s inner energy through fun physical activities, meditation, Yoga and Tai-Chi. All of this combined with our mix martial arts self-defense will significantly help your kids to be bullying PROOF!

Taekwondo (7 years + and family)

Come to our all open and family Taekwondo class and enjoy the flavour of this special program. Youth and adults create and empower their self-esteem, leadership and confidence trough the practice of Taekwondo. Our unique Traditional martial arts program is based on discipline, respect, development and maintenance of your inner energy through fun physical activities. Families who attend together will see their family relationship empowered to the greatest level possible by learning how to work together as a family, kick as a family, and set and achieve goals as a family . Yoga for Tweens

We will focus on basic asanas while deepening the practice by focusing on correct and safe body alignment. The use of props make this practice open to new or experienced yoga students. Take the time to connect the body, breath and mind.

Young Rembrandts: Cartooning (Grades 1-6)

Learning to draw can be fun, especially when we create silly characters, funny expressions and drawing sequences that tell a joke! This delightful program combines Young Rembrandts’ innovative, step-by-step drawing method with light-hearted subject matter that engages children, their sense of humor, and their vivid imaginations.

Young Rembrandts: Elementary (Grades 1-6)

The elementary-age curriculum is designed to teach basic to advanced drawing skills, art techniques and vocabulary. We believe that drawing is the bedrock skill required for future artistic success. We give them skills to express their creativity, and believe that all children can – and should – learn to draw. You’ll see increased art abilities, learning skills, self-confidence and self-esteem.

Young Rembrandts: Preschool (3-5 years)

Young students are so eager to learn, and a joy to teach. Young Rembrandts provides a nurturing and strong learning environment that expands Preschoolers’ image vocabulary as they draw familiar images such as fish, teddy bears, rainbows and cowboys. We’ll concentrate on the skills of drawing and coloring while we develop fine motor skills, focus, listening, staying on task, patience and spatial organization.

Zumba is a Latin-inspired dance fitness class that incorporates Latin and international music and dance movements. This creates a dynamic and effective fitness class designed for all fitness levels. This program will use high energy movements to stretch and tone hips, abs, and arms.

Zumbini is the latest addition from the Zumba program. Unlike Zumba its not a fitness class, its designed to let caregivers and their little ones, 0-4yrs, wiggle, sing and learn together. The Zumbini program is where the science of child development meets the magic of Zumba for the ultimate bonding experience! You'll receive a brand new Zumbini Bundle containing a songbook and two copies of the class music CD, so you can take the class experience home.
